Dr. Katharina Maier

Katharina Maier is a criminologist and Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Winnipeg. She holds a PhD in Criminology and Socio-legal Studies from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor from the University of Muenster (Germany). Dr. Maier's research focuses on drugs, public health and criminal justice workers, homelessness and marginalization, and punishment. Her work has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and published in several international and Canadian venues, including the International Journal of Drug Policy, Theoretical Criminology, Social Problems, and the British Journal of Criminology.
