Janel Swain Janel is an Advanced Care Paramedic and the Manager of Clinical Services with Emergency Health Service (EHS) Nova Scotia. Prior to her work with EHS, she completed an Honors Degree in Advanced Biology at Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa and worked with the National Canadian Red Cross office as part of the Injury Prevention Department. While in Ottawa she completed both her Primary and Advanced Care Paramedic studies at Algonquin College. Upon return to Nova Scotia she began working with EHS, became a Heart and Stroke ACLS and PALS Instructor and subsequently obtained her Certificate in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University.
Janel is a co-investigator on several EMS research studies focusing on clinical care and EMS system design. She also serves as a Senior Appraiser with the Prehospital Evidence-Based Practice Program with the Dalhousie University Division of EMS, Department of Emergency Medicine. Her international contributions to education and research include being an Evidence Reviewer, Question Owner and Task Force Member for the First Aid Task Force with the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). |
